ビデオ教材、新聞記事や書籍等による読解教材、およびこれらに付随するプリント類を使用する。

Video materials, reading materials such as newspaper articles and books, and related printed materials will be used.

・新聞記事、テレビ番組等で取り上げられている話題についてディスカッションを行う
・論理的な段落作文と文章構成の練習を行う
・社会的・科学的な話題についての情報とそれについての自分の考えを論理の整った文章にまとめる
・論理的思考の練習として、適宜ディベートなどのクラス活動を取り入れる

In the class, students will (1) discuss topics covered in newspaper articles, TV programs, etc.; (2) practice logical paragraph writing and sentence structure; (3) practice to compile information on social and scientific topics and their thoughts on them into logical sentences; and (4) have class activities such as debates as needed to practice logical thinking.

Assignment Submission and Summary

教員の指示に従い、次の授業までにすべき課題を完成させること。

Students are expected to follow the instructors' instructions and complete the assignments to be done before the next class.

宿題・クイズ、参加等:50% レポート:50%
クラスに3分の2以上の出席がなければ「不可」とする。

Homework, quizzes, participation: 50% Final report: 50%.
Students who miss more than two thirds of the class will fail the course.

自分の意見や考え方を相手に伝えるためには、相手が納得できる論理で説明をする必要があります。社会的・科学的な話題でのディスカッションやレポート作成に挑戦してみましょう。

In order to share your opinions and ideas with others, you need to explain them in a logical way that they can understand. Challenge yourself to discuss and write reports on social and scientific topics.

原則として対面式授業を行う予定です。また資料の配布はメールを通じて行います。受講希望者は、第一回目の授業の前に担当教員宛にメールを送ってください。

Basically, face-to-face classes will be held. In addition, materials will be distributed via e-mail. If you wish to take the course, please send an e-mail to the instructor in charge before the first class.
