While acquiring knowledge of Japanese industry, including agriculture, fisheries, forestry, manufacturing, and commerce, students will deepen their understanding of Japanese society and consider how Japanese industry relates to industries around the world.

日本の産業の発展とその時代背景、現在、企業が抱える時事的な問題を概観する。ビデオ視聴、担当講師による講義、学生の司会による討論で理解を深める。また、発表とその準備における調査活動を通して、日本のものづくりを支える中小企業についても学ぶ。

This course will provide an overview of the development of Japanese industry, its historical background, and current issues facing companies today. Students will deepen their understanding by watching videos, listening to lectures by the instructor in charge, and participating in discussions moderated by students. Students will also learn about the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that support Japan's manufacturing industry through presentations and research activities in preparation for the presentations.

授業で使用する資料等を事前に配布するので、資料の内容、キーワードの意味など確認しておくこと。

Materials to be used in class will be provided in advance, so please be sure to check the contents of the materials and the meanings of key words.

レポートによるが、クラス活動への参加および出席も重視する。
なお、授業に出席しても、授業にまったく参加していない場合は欠席とみなすので注意すること。

日本の社会や産業について、できるだけ皆さんの関心が高いものをテーマにしたいと考えています。身近な事柄に関心を持ち、皆さんの問題意識で授業を活性化してください。

Your lecturer would like to deal with topics of high interest to you regarding Japanese society and industry as much as possible. Students are expected to be interested in issues related to this field, and stimulate the class with your discussions.

原則として対面式授業を行う予定です。また資料の配布はメールを通じて行います。受講希望者は、第一回目の授業の前に担当教員宛にメールを送ってください。

Basically, face-to-face classes will be held. In addition, materials will be distributed via e-mail. If you wish to take the course, please send an e-mail to the instructor in charge before the first class.
