This course will provide an overview of the development of Japanese industry, its historical background, and current issues facing companies today. Students will deepen their understanding by watching videos, listening to lectures by the instructor in charge, and participating in discussions moderated by students. Students will also learn about the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that support Japan's manufacturing industry through presentations and research activities in preparation for the presentations.

Evaluation will be based on reports, but participation and attendance in class activities will also be emphasized. Please note that even if you attend class, if you do not participate in class at all, it will be considered as an absence.
