[Subject] This course aims to improve students' skills to speak Japanese language in formal situations.

[Goal] Students will be expected (1) to be able to use Japanese appropriately in formal situations; (2) to be able to make logical arguments in Japanese; and (3) to be able to listen to others' opinions and respond appropriately.

[成績評価]
・成績評価は以下の基準で行うが、出席及び授業中の参加度を重視する。
・クラスでの課題:30% 宿題・クイズ:20% 発表・レポート・試験等:30% 参加:20%

Evaluation of grades will be based on the following criteria. Attendance and participation in class are also considered essential.

大学外のフォーマルな場面でも適切な日本語が使えるように、日本語表現を磨きましょう。自分の考えを口頭や文章で論理的に述べる、かみ合った議論をするという、日本人にとっても難しい課題に挑戦してみましょう。

Improve your Japanese expressions so that you can use appropriate Japanese not only on campus but also in formal situations outside the university. Challenge yourself to express your thoughts logically in oral and written form, and to engage in engaged discussion, which is a difficult task even for Japanese people.

原則として対面式授業を行う予定です。また資料の配布はメールを通じて行います。受講希望者は、第一回目の授業の前に担当教員宛にメールを送ってください。

Basically, face-to-face classes will be held. In addition, materials will be distributed via e-mail. If you wish to take the course, please send an e-mail to the instructor in charge before the first class.
