This course will provide an overview of the Japanese social system that international students need to know in order to live in Japan. Lectures by the instructor and discussions moderated by students will deepen understanding. Students will also deepen their understanding of the state of Japanese society through presentations and research activities in preparation for the presentations.

Evaluation will be based on reports, but participation and attendance in class activities will also be emphasized.
Please note that even if you attend class, if you do not participate in class at all, it will be considered as an absence.
