本ゼミでは、
In this seminar, students will engage in hands-on experiences of “searching for, capturing, and observing" microorganisms in the environment using their own smartphones. By visualizing the invisible microbial world with a familiar personal device, this seminar offers a real-world analogue of Pokémon GO. Rather than relying on expensive microscopes, observations are conducted using individual smartphones, allowing students to experience science as an accessible activity open to everyone, not only to specialists. Starting from these microscopic observations, the seminar expands its perspective to a wide range of topics, including environmental issues, the relationship between science and society, and the global sharing of knowledge. Through collaboration with students from other universities, participants will develop essential skills for interdisciplinary problem identification and problem solving.

土や水、
Soil, water, and the surfaces of plants, countless microorganisms live all around us in our everyday environment. In this seminar, you will enjoy the experience of finding these hidden organisms with your own hands, much like a real-world version of Pokémon GO, while exploring the connections between science and society. No microscope is required. All you need is a smartphone and the curiosity to see the world from a different perspective. Students from all academic backgrounds, both humanities and sciences, are welcome, especially those who are interested in thinking through seeing.
